Snow Emergency/Winter Parking Ban in effect from 10:00 PM on Friday February 6, 2026 to 8:00 PM on Saturday February 7, 2026
Mayor Samantha Squailia and the Fitchburg Commissioner of Public Works have declared a Snow Emergency and have activated the Winter Parking Ban throughout the City of Fitchburg. The Snow Emergency/Winter Parking Ban will be in effect from 10:00 PM on Friday February 6, 2026 to 8:00 PM on Saturday February 7, 2026. The duration may be adjusted as weather and road conditions allow. Due to the potential need for snow removal, this Snow Emergency/Winter Parking Ban will also apply to metered parking.
Per City Code §169-35 it shall be unlawful for the owner, operator or person in charge of any vehicle (other than one acting in an emergency) to park such vehicle on any public street in the City of Fitchburg for the duration of the Winter Parking Ban. Vehicles that violate the parking ban are subject to ticketing, fines, and/or removal at the owner’s expense.
Please also note that per City Code § 169-35:
- Handicapped parking areas located in residential zones are EXEMPT from the Winter Parking Ban.
- Metered parking may be used from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the Winter Parking Ban, unless specified otherwise.

Residents and property owners are reminded that they are responsible for keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice adjacent to their property per City Code §157-33.
La alcaldesa Samantha Squailia y el Comisionado de Obras Públicas de Fitchburg han declarado una emergencia por nieve y han activado la prohibición de estacionamiento en invierno en toda la ciudad de Fitchburg. La emergencia de nieve/prohibición de estacionamiento en invierno estará vigente desde las 10:00 PM del viernes 6 de febrero de 2026 hasta las 8:00 PM del sábado 7 de febrero de 2026. La duración puede ajustarse según lo permitan las condiciones climáticas y de la carretera. Debido a la posible necesidad de remoción de nieve, esta Emergencia de Nieve/Prohibición de Estacionamiento Invernal también se aplicará al estacionamiento con parquímetro.
Según el Código de la Ciudad §169-35, será ilegal que el propietario, operador o persona a cargo de cualquier vehículo (que no sea uno que actúe en caso de emergencia) estacione dicho vehículo en cualquier calle pública de la Ciudad de Fitchburg durante la duración del Prohibición de Estacionamiento en invierno. Los vehículos que violen la Prohibición de Estacionamiento están sujetos a multas y / o cargos por remover el vehículo del lugar a expensas del propietario.
Tenga en cuenta también que según el Código de la Ciudad §169-35:
- Las áreas de estacionamiento para discapacitados ubicadas en zonas residenciales están EXENTAS de la Prohibición de Estacionamiento en Invierno.
- El estacionamiento con parquímetro se puede utilizar de 8:00 AM a 5:00 PM durante la prohibición de estacionamiento en invierno, a menos que se especifique lo contrario.
