[ARCHIVED] Renew Your Dog License Today!

Fitchburg residents can apply for or renew their dog’s license online or download the paper application and renew via mail or in person, following instructions on the respective form. State law requires that all dogs over 6 months have a current dog license.  All dogs must be licensed every year.  Dog licenses issued for any given year expire on March 31 of the following year.  There is a grace period until May 1.

The 2023 Dog Tags are now available for renewal:

·         Renew online

·         Mail in your renewal form

·         Mail in your renewal form with your 2023 Census Form

·         Or come into City Hall.

Owners of dogs not re-licensed by May 1 will be fined $15 plus the cost of the annual license fee(s) not paid. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required in order to license your dog. A reminder and option to license by mail is sent with the annual city census form.
