[ARCHIVED] 2024 Dog Licenses Are Available Now!

Dog Licenses for 2024 are now available. Fitchburg residents can apply for or renew their dog’s license online, renew via mail or in person, following instructions on the respective form. State law requires that all dogs over 6 months have a current dog license.  All dogs must be licensed every year.  Dog licenses issued for any given year expire on March 31st of the following year. There is a grace period until May 1st.

Apply to renew your dog license today:

  • Apply / Renew online
  • Mail in your renewal form with your 2024 Census Form
  • Or visit the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 718 Main Street

Owners of dogs not re-licensed by May 1 will be fined $15 plus the cost of the annual license fee(s) not paid. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required in order to license your dog. A reminder and option to license by mail is sent with the annual city census form.
