Fitchburg Announces Food Drive
City will work to fight Food Insecurity
Fitchburg – Fitchburg Mayor Stephen L. DiNatale today announced that the City of Fitchburg will join the fight against food insecurity this holiday season. Mayor DiNatale invites the public to drop off donations at several convenient locations throughout the City of Fitchburg. Unexpired canned fruit and vegetables, jarred pasta sauce, pasta, peanut butter, jelly/jam, ground coffee, tea, cake and pie crust mixes, baby food, juice boxes and bottles and vegetable oil are examples of the types of goods sought.
The City of Fitchburg is pleased to lead this effort. “We understand that some of our fellow residents are in need of additional help, especially during the holiday season, and we hope this drive will help provide food for our neighbors,” said Mayor DiNatale.
Donations may be dropped off at the following locations starting Monday, November 27 and running through Monday, December 18: Municipal Offices on Boulder Drive, Library, Police Station, Fire Department Head Quarters on North Street and DPW.
Donations will be divided among the several food pantries that service residents of Fitchburg.
Anyone with questions about this effort may contact the City at (978) 829-1899.
