The City of Fitchburg is pleased to announce that they have started the process of developing the 2018-2019 Action Plan for the City of The City of Fitchburg which includes the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Year 44 Program The complete application package is now available online at http://www.fitchburgma.gov/150/Community-Development-Block-Grant-Program
Included with the RFP is an estimate of potential funding for the upcoming Year 44 program. Although Fitchburg’s Entitlement amount is unknown at this time due to uncertainty regarding federal appropriations, more information will be provided as soon as it is available. In addition to the Entitlement amount, we anticipate that additional monies will be available in program income and reprogrammed funds.
A meeting to discuss the community development and housing needs of Fitchburg, which will assist the City in determining its overall priorities and investment plan for HUD-funded programs, will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fitchburg Senior Center, 14 Wallace Avenue, Fitchburg. Community Development staff will also be available at that time to answer any questions about the Year 44 CDBG application.
The first public hearing where individuals will have the opportunity to comment on their CDBG applications and on issues listed above will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., in the Memorial Middle School Library at 615 Rollstone Street in Fitchburg. This hearing will be presided over by the Planning Board.
